Overview

The Honolulu Club caters to many different fitness interests and offers Specialized Fitness Programs with Hawaii’s most experienced instructors. Our fitness team is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping our Members to achieve their individual goals. From Boxing to salsa and tango dance lessons, Racquetball, Squash and Tennis lessons to private lessons with the Fitness Cue, Yamuna, and Yoga, the Honolulu Club offers more options than most other fitness clubs.

Cancellation Policy

Please note there is a 24-hour cancellation policy on programs. Notice must be given at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule a session to avoid paying the full session rate.

Specialized Fitness Program Descriptions

Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport that develops strength, speed, reflexes, endurance and will. Perfect for anyone who wants to get in shape, learn self defense or sharpen their skills. All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome.

The Club offers one-on-one personal instruction for those who want to advance quickly. Perfect to sharpen your hands, footwork, stamina and the use of mitts and training sticks. Lessons are offered in 30 and 60 Minute sessions and are geared specifically to your level and are run at your pace.

Dancing

We offer a wide variety of classes in Ballet, Jazz, Nia, Salsa, and Tango to give our students a chance to learn about different types of movement. We make it a point to welcome any dancer at any level, and our teachers are adept at adjusting classes to highlight different talents among their students.

Fascination Method®

The Fascination Method is a process of self-care.

Fascial restrictions are the root of aches and pains associated with aging and dysfunctional movement patterns. Self-Myofascial Release, aka rolling the body, alleviates immobility and pain related to tight muscles; it improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and increases range of motion in the joints.

At the same time, because fascia integrates down to the cellular level, The Fascianation Method, a trademarked head to toe rolling process helps orchestrate an internal milieu necessary for our bodies to function and heal efficiently. Like a well-functioning car, our bodies require maintenance such as movement, proper alignment, nutrient intake, delivery, filtration, removal of waste and toxins. The Fascianator roller is part of a simple and revolutionary self-care program and was designed to be used in-home or almost anywhere. There are many types of foam and fitness rollers sold on the market designed to give the user soft tissue tensional relief.

Anthony Chrisco

Anthony Chrisco, BS, ACE, NASM PES, is a Founding Member of the Fascia Research Society, a seasoned certified personal trainer, continuing education provider, co-owner and President of Your Body Is Waiting LLC. To provide people with complete care and to improve his clients further, Anthony sought to create a way to use the healing properties of fascia, which is throughout the body. He developed, trademarked, and teaches The Fascianation Method to professionals and practitioners of yoga, physical therapy, personal training, and athletic training, and he also makes it possible for his clients to heal from home, too, thanks to the self-myofascial release process. Anthony authored and teaches continuing education courses approved by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Fascianation Method® Group Exercise Classes

This class will help you understand why you are aching and what you need to do to mitigate those chronic aches and pains! This is NOT a foam roller class. This class uses the Fascianator® roller, also developed by Anthony and available at the club logo shop!

Advanced Fascianation Method® Workshops

Take your practice of The Fascianation Method® class to the next level! This advanced class will help further enhance your body’s functional abilities by utilizing the Fascianator to free your fascia. This class will be using various stretches, core exercises, and corrective exercises to improve the mobility and stability of the whole body from head to toe.

Fitness Cue®

The Fitness Cue® is a corrective exercise tool designed to promote symmetry and flexibility for people of all ages and fitness levels. The three gentle cues help user reinforce good posture, regain shoulder range of motion and re-educate proper body mechanics. This program is available to members and non-members.

Shoulder Freedom with the Fitness Cue®

Experience the freedom of your muscle tissues being happy, healthy and strong. If you or your loved ones are stiff and tight in the neck, shoulders and upper back and you spend a lot of your time in front of a computer, this class is the right fit. The Fitness Cue® is an innovative tool that offers a new and effective way to lengthen and strengthen muscles and correct imbalances. Realign your spine, regain flexibility in your shoulder area and improve proprioception by re-educating proper body mechanics.

Golf

Lessons are offered for players of all levels looking to improve or learn the game. They are scheduled based on your availability. Private lessons are the best and fastest way to improve your overall game performance and receive a total body workout.

Our PGA Pro can customize your private lesson and offers the latest golf video and motion measurement technology to help players of any age or skill level reach their goals. We also offer an outdoor golf driving cage that you can use to practice your technique and game.

Racquetball and Squash

Group Lessons

This series of four-60 minute lessons is designed for beginning racquetball players or those who need a refresher. Beginners will learn the basics of each stroke with other players of the same ability in an energetic and rewarding atmosphere. This group class series will introduce you to other new players and help develop your level of play.

Private Lessons

Lessons are offered for all players of all levels looking to improve or learn the game. They are scheduled based on your availability. Private lessons are the best and fastest way to improve your overall game performance and receive a total body workout.

If you are serious about a great cardio workout, building your core, and developing your racquet skills – you will need face time with a pro. A teaching pro will observe your game and assess your current fitness level to help build endurance on the court. A pro will develop your technique and correct improper swing and footwork to help improve your game. Our teaching pros will teach you strategy and tips on winning your games. Your speed, endurance and recovery time will dramatically improve.

Swimming

Certified swim instruction is available to adults and children. Our low student to instructor ratio ensures progress and success. Our heated, outdoor pool provides a comfortable exercise and training experience.

Tennis

Yamuna®

Yamuna Body Rolling® (YBR)® is a global movement re-education system that teaches you to identify and correct negative movement patterns in your body. YBR® is appropriate for everyone. You’ll organize your body to bring all your parts back to working alignment through bone stimulation, increasing spaces between joints and using your breath to the balls to the bone. All equipment is manufactured in Italy and there are Wakers and Savers for your hands and feet. The Face Ball is unique in texture as it is similar to your skin. Upcoming May and June Series

Save Your Face/TMJ, May 14th. Not only will your face look younger, but your senses will become heightened after this workshop. Facial tension is the cause of looking older. Look and feel better when the tension in your skull is released. Time and again, we are amazed with the results people feel with the Face Ball and inner TMJ work. Bring your own Face Balls for this workshop. Or, they may be purchased for $55 in class.

Align Hands & Feet, May 21st. In our hands and feet, more than 50% of our bones live. You’ll feel immediate releases throughout your entire body by working so many bones at once. Because our hands use computers, smart phones and even through driving patterns, you’ll learn to reprogram your hands. Attention will also be paid to the foundation of your body: your feet, to provide a more balanced You!

Twists & Scoliosis, May 28th. You’ll feel lighter through the twisting of the pelvis, ribs, shoulder, spine, head and eyes. We all have one stronger side. There’ll be more balance through the use of twisting to move, center and realign the right and left sides of your body. You’ll feel this restructuring and move through your day with greater flow in a centered body.

Save Shoulders & Arms, June 4th. Your shoulders and arms will be opened to create more heart space for moving through the world. By having the shoulders freely move off the spine, the weight of the world will be lifted. Let go of the inherent strain in carrying bags, holding stress and ‘wearing your shoulders like earrings.’ Create a longer neck, aligned arms and freedom through the upper torso. This will create greater performance in all activities.

Yamuna Breath & Ab Flow, June 11th. You’ll feel the energy flow of radiant health through the use of breath while on the ball. Feel the vitality of circulation through the organs, spine and mind while ‘on the breath and the ball.’ Remove blocks of holding patterns to allow ‘internal alchemy’ for better functioning of your entire system.

Yoga

The yoga classes at the Honolulu Club, use a combination of strength, balance, and flexibility that offer offer many benefits to our members. Our experienced and approachable teachers guide students with great care, personal attention, and share the inner joy that comes from doing what they love. We offer alignment based, meditative, strength, and vinyasa flow classes and welcome students at any level; from beginner to advanced.

Individualized instruction is also available as an introduction to yoga, for advancing in a personal practice or for addressing therapeutic needs. Semi-private instruction and special topic yoga workshops are also available.

Yoga was traditionally taught by one teacher directly to one student. The great ancient teachers understood the importance of individualizing each yoga experience to meet the needs of the individual student. Today’s group classes are fun, energizing and help to create a strong community and affordable yoga, however, in a group class teachers may not be able to deliver the individualized attention and guidance that we all need at one time or another.

Private Yoga Instruction

A private session allows for a more intimate view into YOUR practice. You can start a new practice, deepen your current practice or spend some time working with an injury or specific goal or concern.

Private yoga classes are an investment for your personal growth and health. They are a great way to start your yoga practice on a more solid footing before you join group yoga sessions.
